Velia is out of the KNN first premium graded mare Xharmaine Middelsom, and is by the KNN first premium graded and performance-tested stallion Houdini at Little Uncle.

Xharmaine Middelsom’s sire is the exceptionally talented jumping sire Xhamperlain Middelsom. Houdini’s sire is the well-known Knabstrupper stallion, Little Holiday, who himself is by another prolific sire, Hamlet Frydenlund.

Grading Results:

Velia received a First Premium at her grading in 2025 as a 4 year old, achieving an overall score of 8. She now sits in the RKC studbook, a section exclusively held for purebred Knabstruppers.

“Quadratic purebred mare of good type and with a big frame. Suitable depth and width. Pretty head. Slightly short poll. Neck of medium length. Very good shoulder. Well defined withers. Good topline. Well-shaped croup. Clean limbs of proportionate substance, slightly pigeon-toed in front. Good and ground covering walk, narrow behind. Very good trot. Good canter.”

The 9’s were achieved for both her ‘withers and shoulders’, and her trot.

At the 2025 grading she also won Best 4 Year Old Mare and Best Showing for her presentation and turn out.
